If I had Dental Insurance, I Would Go To the Dentist

“If I had Dental Insurance, I would go to the dentist” … “If I had Dental Insurance, I would have all my dental work done” …

If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard those two statements, I would be RICH! Every time I hear someone make those statements, I feel compelled to stop and explain that while having dental insurance is a good resource, but it’s not the total answer to your dental needs.

Dental Insurance is a mixed bag. I have patients who have always had dental insurance and now find themselves without and they will say it’s no big loss. It only covers certain procedures and even then, they don’t always pay and the yearly maximum benefit has remained the same for the last upmteen years they’ve carried the policy.

Then on the other hand, I have patients who have never had dental coverage, who seem to be under the impression that the lack of dental coverage is the biggest obstacle standing between them and their needed dental work.

Bad Economy + Lost Jobs + Lost Benefits = Neglected, Broken Teeth and Costly Dental Emergencies
With the recent downturn in the economy, more and more patients have lost benefits such as dental insurance and some patients who are retired have lost dental coverage as a benefit completely. So is there a viable solution to this problem?

YES!
Stay tuned for a Big Announcement From Prior Cosmetic & Family Dentistry n March 4, 2011…
